SCHMETZ 135X17 SD1 (DPX17 SD1)  industrial sewing machine needles with a SD1 – small triangular point (“TRI TIP”) are specially designed for neat, precise seams in leather and other denser materials. The SD1 point combines a round needle with a very small triangular cut – the point cuts about 10% of the stitch hole, while the conical round point gently displaces the rest of the material. The result is a straight, visually neat seam with less cutting than classic leather cutting needles.
